Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Your privacy is the foundation
Lucid is a thinking tool. For it to work, you need to be radically honest. That means your data must be private — not as a feature, but as a non-negotiable principle.
What we collect
Account information: Your email address when you sign up for the waitlist or create an account. This is used solely to communicate with you about Lucid.
Journal content: The text you write in Lucid, your daily scores, and the actions you commit to. This data is yours. It is encrypted at rest and in transit.
Usage data: Basic analytics to understand how the product is used — page views, session duration, feature usage. We use privacy-respecting analytics with no third-party tracking.
What we never do
We will never sell your data. We will never share your journal content with third parties. We will never use your personal writing to train AI models. We will never show you ads or share data with advertisers.
AI processing
Your journal entries are processed by our AI system to provide analysis, pattern recognition, and insights. This processing happens in real time to serve you directly. Your data is not used to improve models for other users or any other purpose beyond your personal experience.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on encrypted servers. All data transmission uses TLS encryption. We implement industry-standard security practices including regular security audits, access controls, and encrypted backups.
Your rights
You can export all your data at any time. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Upon deletion, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Under GDPR and UK data protection law, you have the right to access, rectify, and erase your personal data.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — those required for authentication and basic site functionality. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.
Third-party services
We use a minimal set of third-party services: hosting infrastructure, email delivery for account communications, and privacy-respecting analytics. None of these services have access to your journal content.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you of any material changes to this privacy policy via email. Continued use of Lucid after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
